【Report】Summer School for Medical Physics 2014

On 18-22 August, our Global Station jointly organized the Summer School with Stanford University. This Summer School was designed to provide a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge in medical physics which include basics of medical physics, particle therapy and RTRT, practical skills at Linac, proton beam therapy and planning system etc. Not only lecturers from our global station, but also invited lectures from other institutions gave wonderful talks including Dr. Lei Xing, Dr. Ruijiang Li and Dr. Magdalena Bazalova from Stanford University as well as Dr. Naruhiro Matsufuji from National Institution of Radiological Science.

This year, we accepted 14 participants in total from Vietnam Hue Central Hospital Cancer Center, Kyoto University, Tohoku University, Miyakojima Radiation Clinic and Hokkaido University. All of those participants successfully completed the course and were awarded a completion certificate. They gave us very positive feedbacks for the contents of lectures but at the same time we also realized some potential to improve our summer school further for next year.
