【Report】The 5th GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics and the 1st Hokkaido Summer Institute-Medical Physics School- enjoyed great success.
The 5th GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics proved to be yet another success. Now, in its 5th year, the summer school was jointly conducted with Medical Physics School which is one of the courses offered by Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) between 6th-10th August 2018. It was our first attempt to join HSI and run the course together with the GI-CoRE Summer School.
This year, the Summer School and HSI welcomed 21 participants from 12 different countries: USA, Italy, Poland, Turkey, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Pakistan, India, Ghana and Japan. HSI -Medical physics school- was open for graduate students, whereas the GI-CoRE summer school was open for early career researchers such as assistant professors, lecturers, researchers, radiation physicists and medical physicists.
Participants had the rare opportunity to learn from the world’s leading researchers and enjoyed interactive sessions.
All the participants successfully completed the course and were awarded a certificate of completion on the last day of the course. We would like to thank all the participants and the lecturers for taking part in the summer school and HSI -Medical Physics School-
