The 6th GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics 2019 & Hokkaido Summer Institute

We are pleased to announce GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics will be jointly conducted with Medical Physics School which is one of the courses provided by Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) from 19th-23rd August 2019. If you are interested in radiation therapy from a medical physics perspective, please join us! <Course Outline> Lectures on medical physics in English by international lecturers from Hokkaido University and Stanford University as the partner of GI-CoRE* and related institutions. The basic and state-of-art medical physics including particle beam therapy, radiomics, real-time tumor-tracking technology can be learnt in the lectures and hands-on practices. HSI Medical Physics School is open for all graduate students, whereas GI-CoRE Summer School is open for early career researchers. Please see below for more information. NOTE: Application procedure is different between HSI Medical Physics School and GI-CoRE Summer School. Please read the following information carefully.

Target: Early career researchers (Medical Physicists, Clinical Physicists, Engineers, Technologists, Trainers and MDs) Dates:  19 – 23 August 2019 Program: GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics_2019 Lecturers List: Lecturers List GI-CoRE Summer School for Medical Physics Tuition fee: Free, but you are expected to play a role as a mentor to help participating students in HSI. Credit: No credits offered Certificate: Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants who complete the course successfully. Language: English Capacity: 30 seats including participants from HSI(This is a preliminary figure and is subject to change.) Application Period: From Dec 25, 2018 to May 6, 2019 ( 5:00 pm. 2) CV including research interests 3) Abstract of the presentation about your research (approximately 5 minutes) All participants of the summer school are expected to make a 5-minute oral presentations during the course. Screening Results: Screening results will be notified to applicants via e-mail by the end of May. Fellowship: Fellowship opportunity is available for early career researchers. This fellowship aims to support and nurture young researchers. Coverage of Fellowship: Return flight tickets and accommodation for 6 nights How to apply: Please indicate your interest in the fellowship and motivation with a focus on academic excellence and ambitions to pursue a successful research career. Award Notification:  Selected fellowship recipients will be contacted by GSQ office via e-mail to notify of award selection  by the end of May.
