Hokkaido Summer Institute 2018 - Radiation Biology School & The 1st GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2018

We are pleased to announce Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) 2018 for Radiation Biology School will be held from 1st-6th August 2018. And The 1st GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2018 will be jointly conducted with HSI for Radiation Biology School. If you are interested in radiation biology from an oncological perspective, please join us! <Course Outline> Lectures on radiation biology in English by international lecturers from Hokkaido University, Stanford University as the partner of GI-CoRE* and related institutions. The basic and state-of-art radiation biology including particle beam therapy, molecular biology, radiation oncology and quantum biology can be learned in the lectures and experimental practices in the wet laboratory.  HSI 2018 for Radiation Biology School is open for all graduate students, whereas GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2018 is open for early career researchers. Please see below for more information. NOTE: Application system is different between HSI Radiation Biology School and GI-CoRE Summer School. Please read the following information carefully. Target:     Graduate students Period:     1 – 6 August 2018 Program:   HokkaidoSummerInstitute 2018ーRadiationBiologySchool_ver8 Tuition fee: JPY29,600 This fee will be waived for students who enroll in this program as exchange students from Hokkaido University’s partner institutions. Please see HSI website for more details. Credit: 2 Language: English Capacity:   30 seats Application: Application Period is from February 1 (0:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time) to February 28, 2018 (5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time). Screening Results: Screening results will be notified to applicants via e-mail in early April 2018. Fellowship: Fellowship opportunity is available for graduate students. This fellowship aims to support and nurture young researchers.

On the HSI application, 1) Please indicate your interest to this fellowship in the online application where you explain the reasons you have chosen these courses (Please see section 2 “Courses you wish to take at Hokkaido University”) 2) Please enter “GI-CoRE Fellowship” in the name of the organization in section 5 “Finance” of the online application.

  The 1st GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2018   Target:     Early career researchers in radiation-related biology Period:     1 – 6 August 2018 Program: SummerSchool2018_RadiationBiology_ver6 Tuition fee: Free, but you are expected to play a role as a mentor to help student participants in HSI-Radiation Biology School. Credit:     No credit offered Language: English Capacity:   30 seats including participants from HSI (This is a preliminary figure and is subject to change.) Application: Application period for GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2018 has ended on March 31, 2018.  We thank all the applicants for their interest in this summer school.
