Dr. Yasuhito Onodera, Associate Professor of the Laboratory for Molecular and Cellular Dynamics Research of the Global Center for Biomedical Science and Engineering (GCB) was awarded the Hokkaido Science and Technology Encouragement Award 2021 on “Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of inducing carcinogenesis and treatment resistance by changes in intracellular metabolism”. This achievement includes research conducted at GI-CoRE, a predecessor of GCB, which has evolved into the ongoing international joint research, “Optimization of cancer therapy based on the intra-tumor metabolic geometry”.
